5 out of 5 stars Fantasic book for anyone trying to build wealth!   August 6, 2008

As a novice investor, I picked up this book hoping to gain some overall knowledge of the stock market. I was amazed at how brilliantly written it was and I can't wait to read it again! I have read several other publications up to this point, but most were packed with nothing but mumbo jumbo technical terms that will make anyone go to sleep within seconds! Jason makes the market easy to understand, exciting, and even incorporates some comedic tone throughout the book. Although this book is targeted at novices, I feel that by the end of the book he has taught several advanced expert level strategies that will ensure wealth down the road for anyone who follows them diligently. Also, he is truly a genuine man, not trying to convince the world that you can become a millionaire overnight, but instead focusing on the time tested formulas and strategies that will give an investor the lowest chance of loss and the maximum chance of gain. I got the feeling that Jason is more likely to expose the truth about the market in a truthful way than to spurt some "get rick quick" hype just to make another sale at someone else's loss (like many of the famous "gurus" do). Anyone who reads this book and understands basic algebra could learn the tricks of the pros-- and more importantly, learn how to incorporate that type of thinking into your own personality so you can actually think like the pros do! I have already subscribed to his monthly newsletter (which is a phenomenal deal) and can't wait to give my investment portfolio a total makeover!

Thank you so much Jason, I can't express enough how grateful I am to have found your book. I am looking forward to writing back to you after I make my first million, which after reading this book I have realized I am able to make happen a lot sooner than I thought!

5 out of 5 stars Great little hidden gem for investing.   August 4, 2008

I bought this book after reading some recommendations around the net, the price was certainly attractive. Not knowing what you are going to get, I don't often like to spend $50+ on some of the investment books that are out there.

I've done some trading in the past and was looking for information on shorting stocks (since in the current market everything is going down). The book covered the concept in brief, which did answer my questions about how shorting works.

It is quite an easy read, and is not weighted down technical mumble jumbo.

I was excited by some of the examples in the book, particularly the way the author clearly explains the work done by O'Shaughessy and his analysis of historical stock performance. When placed out clearly in a chart it is simply amazing to see the difference a couple of % can make when compounded over a number of years. The difference is millions of dollars!

For the price of the book, you can't go wrong with this one. If you are trying to calculate the return on investment, the $10 spent on this book should return dividends for years to come!

5 out of 5 stars The Most Make Sense Stock Investing Guide   August 2, 2008
Jason has made this book as simple as possible and yet deep enough to get your cold feet cured. This book explain key points from the fundamental as well as technical approach in the stock market. And he always uses common sense when giving his reasons why his system will work or at the very least, will help preserve your money.
Jason system tends to be a bit fundamentalist when screening the stocks before finally he put them in his list. And he is Bill Miller technical twin when it is time to buy or sale the stock. From my rookie point of view, Jason is one of the best authors.

5 out of 5 stars Lamen Terms   July 31, 2008
This book, from what I've read. Which is more than half at this point. I can honestly say it's a great little book. It's simple, it's understandable and it has levels to how complex it can be. I originally started reading "All About Asset Allocation" another good book. Yet, boring, and taking up shelf space. Anyone new to stocks, or just wanting to read a stock book, this should be in your list. And, if you are buying this book to break into the stock market, my advice, play one of the fake money games before you play with real money.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect to build a strong financial foundation   July 30, 2008

I have an educational background but nothing related to finance or the stock market. This book very keenly taught me the basics of how to interpret balance sheets, income statements, and the stock market & investing vocabulary. After developing a foundation, Jason goes provides insights from the top names in the history of the investing industry, including their theories and practices.

I was very impressed with what I was able to take from the book as well as what I can use from the knowledge gained. I plan on employing several of his mid-cap & dividend strategies to my own portfolio, which began only 2 months ago. I commend Jason for writing such a easy to follow book for someone without a strong financial background. I strongly recommend this book to anyone looking to get their feet wet in the stock market industry!
