Good way to keep a spare key July 29, 2008
I bought a key safe and installed it on the outside of the house next to the front door. br /br /It works as advertised (I already owned an older version of the safe). It does take some work to install and setup, but nothing that is too difficult. I recommend it for keeping a spare key. Remember, if someone could take this off the wall, they could just as easily break through the front door.

I bought this so there would be no key fumbelling, now when wife comes home from shopping one hand is all she needs to open door. No more holding bag in one hand and an open purse in other looking for key. Also put one by front door i am in wheel chair,and now I can go out and lock or come in and unlock with out needing help,liked soo much bought one for the office area of our home now we can lock the file cabnet but have key close neet device and as I got the ones that don't have an l c d screen no batterys ever

Very useful, very solid. Its thicker than it appears, getting the mounting bracket off wasn't as easy as the directions indicate. br /br /Overall -- fits the bill, Amazon delivery super fast and top notch.br /br /Pete

I GOT THIS FOR MY "AUDI". ANY NEW CAR KEY IS TOO FAT FOR THE COMPARTMENT. EVEN A SUBARU KEY, WITH REMOTE WILL NOT FIT!br /br /WORSE YET. THE THERE'S A PHILIPS SCREW INCLUDED, TOO HOLD THE KEY IN BOX. I'M LOCKED OUT, I NEED A SCREWDRIVER TO GET MY KEY??br /WORTHLESS!

This is the perfect thing to store a key safely outdoors. It doesn't require batteries so no worries about not being able to open it because a battery went dead. I use it to store a key that's for a side garage door because I've locked myself out a couple of times. This particular door has a knob that can be opened from the inside when it is locked. If there's a wind blowing and the door is blown shut, the handle of the door is still locked and I can't open it from the outside. This was the perfect solution. No worries if I'm home alone and lock myself out now.
