Feels Solid and well worth the price October 8, 2008 I bought this to be placed inside my gun safe to give my paper products extra fire resistance. It feels solid and easily accommodates full size documents and cash. For the money it seems like a great deal especially with free shipping considering it weighs close to 20 lbs. Granted it's not my gun safe but didn't cost thousands either. I can't comment on the locks as that is a non issue for me as I only wanted more security in case of a fire. If you want security you are going to have to pay to play as the saying goes. How hard would it be to break in with a crowbar or pry it off the floor and carry it out the door. If you want security you have to go big. IF you want some good fire protection put it in your freezer and it should make it through a fire.
Looks and feels solid, haven't tested it in a fire. August 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Looks and feels very heavy/sturdy. Haven't tested it in a fire (hope I don't have to, obviously). Room to fit 8.5 x 11" documents without folding, which is very nice. Must be stored horizontally to be effective (according to the instructions). Comes with two keys. Probably wouldn't be great strictly for privacy applications since you could most likely break the handle and/or lock fairly easily if you really wanted to, but that's okay because it's just supposed to provide security from fire and water. I don't know if it's ultimately a five-star product or not (that would depend on how it performs in a fire), but I have no complaints thus far and I'm going with "innocent until proven guilty" style of rating. Would buy again.
shipped quick and in good shape August 1, 2008 this product was shipped right out after I ordered it and it was in great shape when it got to me not a single flaw I am very satisfied with the way everything was handled.
Fire Safety Box July 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just ordered this and find it just perfect for our needs - not too big or heavy so I can grab it and go if I needed to. One comment though - could not open the lid when I received it - after many frustrating tries, had to call manufacturer who told me this happens a lot! Just take a butter knife and pry it open the very first time then it is fine and won't happen again. My response: why not put a note on the box to that effect!!!!
Good box June 18, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The firesafe box is doing what it needs to do, short of lighting it on fire to test it, it keeps my important documents safe. If nothing else I have peace of mind.
